At the Spring Equinox, day and night hang in perfect balance. And just like that, the earth begins its gentle tilt toward more light.
There’s something poetic about that shift. In science, they call it the heliotropic effect: the tendency of living organisms (and even entire systems!) to orient toward a source of light or energy.
And, I do love a new scientific concept. Especially when it shines a light 🥴 on something I feel so profoundly:
It’s not just sunflowers. 🌻
We do this, too.
Just like sunflowers, we too are naturally drawn to light. It’s an instinctive pull, a connection that we all share. We turn toward people who radiate purpose, positivity, and presence. We’re drawn to leaders who shine, not just because they’re polished — but because they seem lit up from within.
That’s the kind of personal brand that resonates.
Not flashy. Not forced.
But magnetic because it’s anchored in what you stand for, not just how you show up.
Being a source of light isn’t about being “on” all the time. It’s not performance. It’s a practice. For me, that means:
Tending to my own light.
Before I can shine for others, I must fill myself with light. That means honoring the rituals that connect me to my soul’s calling—from morning walks to soaking in the sauna to those surprise heart shapes the universe slips into puddles and leaves. These moments aren’t extras. They’re essentials. They keep me rooted, balanced, and aware.
Choosing to amplify others.
To be of service is to shine light on someone else’s path. And that requires an abundance mindset. Just because someone else “won” doesn’t mean there’s less for me. The light isn’t limited. It expands. My work — and my joy — is in lifting others up, not keeping score.
Planting myself where I want to grow.
Sunflowers don’t wait to see if it will be sunny — they just turn their faces toward the sun and grow anyway. That’s the energy behind SWAY | LIVE!
Historically, August was a very quiet time for speaking and consulting, so planted something new. Something I could pour my energy into. Because a personal brand doesn’t wait for perfect conditions. It roots itself in purpose and grows anyway.
So, where are you planting yourself this season?
If you’re ready to grow, I’d love to invite you to join us at SWAY | LIVE 25 — a vibrant, soul-filled space to nurture your personal brand and deepen your connection to the work that truly lights you up.Â
Getting registered now isn’t just a calendar decision. It’s a commitment to plant yourself, show up with intention, and grow something bold and beautiful alongside others who are doing the same.
The best time to grow was yesterday. The next best time? Now.
